TruthFeed was launched officially already on January 7, 2011. Until now we have been almost on a stealth mode, because we wanted to continue improving our platform and algorithms. However, now we are finally scaling up! This is also the reason why we decided to start this blog.
So what is TruthFeed all about? Altough it is kind of a microblogging platform, we are not trying to create a new Facebook or Twitter. We are trying to create something the world is missing.
Social media is a already a huge entity, but we believe every one of us could benefit from it even more. We want to help you to make better decisions by providing a platform where you can easily share, find and discuss experiences about any topic. Many companies are already using quite advanced social media monitoring tools e.g. for marketing research, but for individual users there are no good solutions available. At least until now.
We can summarize the key idea of TruthFeed to three main points:
1. It's a microblogging platform where you can share, find and discuss experiences about any imaginable topic.
2. It's a social media monitoring tool. Our crawlers monitor Twitter and Facebook to find additional data about existing topics.
3. It's a tool for analyzing and comparing between different topics. After all, our idea is to help you to make better decisions.
So why would anyone use it?
Example 1:
Let's say you want to see what people are saying about Barack Obama. On TruthFeed you can go to Obama's topic page where you first see how the sentiment about Barack Obama has developed on the timeline. Then you can scroll down to the individual posts and see what people are actually talking about Obama at the moment.
Example 2:
Let's say you are wondering whether you should go to Harvard University or Yale. On TruthFeed you can create a comparison between Harvard and Yale to find out which one has been performing better based on the discussion sentiment.
TruthFeed is still in beta and it is definitely not perfect. However, we have ambitious goals and we are working hard to realize our vision. Hopefully also this blog will help us in the process.
